چکیده

We consider the correspondence between solutions of non-gravitational field theories formulated in Euclidean space-time andMinkowski spacetime. Infinitely many “Euclidean” spaces can be obtained from M via a group of transformations in which the Wick rotation is a special case. We then discuss how the solutions of gauge field theories formulated in these “Euclidean” spaces have a one-to-one correspondence with the solutions of field theories formulated in Minkowski space-time, provided we avoid the one-point compactification into S = E ⋃ ∞. Nonlocal instantons and solitons in string models

We study a class of nonlocal systems which can be described by a local scalar field diffusing in an auxiliary radial dimension. As examples p-adic, open and boundary string field theory are considered on Minkowski, Friedmann–Robertson–Walker and Euclidean metric backgrounds. Starting from distribution-like initial field configurations which are constant almost everywhere, we construct exact and...

dS/CFT Correspondence from a Holographic Description of Massless Scalar Fields in Minkowski Space-Time

We study a one-to-one map between massless scalar fields on d+1 dimensional Minkowski (Euclidean) space time and scalar fields on d+1 dimensional De Sitter (Euclidean AdS) space. We solve the Klein-Gordon equation for massless scalar field in terms of initial data on the hypersurface t=0 which is isomorphic to the boundary of dS (AdS) space. By inserting these solutions into the action of massl...

A Note on Hartle-Hawking Vacua

The purpose of this note is to establish the basic properties— regularity at the horizon, time independence, and thermality—of the generalized Hartle-Hawking vacua defined in static spacetimes with bifurcate Killing horizon admitting a regular Euclidean section. These states, for free or interacting fields, are defined by a Euclidean functional integral on half the Euclidean section. The emphas...

COMPLEX q-ANALYSIS AND SCALAR FIELD THEORY ON A q-LATTICE

We develop the basic formalism of complex q-analysis to study the solutions of second order q-difference equations which reduce, in the q → 1 limit, to the ordinary Laplace equation in Euclidean and Minkowski space. After defining an inner product on the function space we construct and study the properties of the solutions, and then apply this formalism to the Schrödinger equation and two-dimen...

Short-distance analysis for algebraic euclidean field theory

Recently D. Buchholz and R. Verch have proposed a method for implementing in algebraic quantum field theory ideas from renormalization group analysis of short-distance (high energy) behavior by passing to certain scaling limit theories. Buchholz and Verch distinguish between different types of theories where the limit is unique, degenerate, or classical, and the method allows in principle to ex...
